Anyone in VA have Southern Health?

for insurance? Job came up and DH is looking at it..but...this is their insurance plan.

I'm with BC BS now and its a PPO - am reallyyyyyyyy hating the thought of going to an HMO (strike 1) if he decides to apply for this job and chances are high he'd get it. I have so many specialists and meds I must have..and they do not cover ALOT of them via mail order as I've already checked. Strike 2.

Thoughts if you have this insurance plan? Likes / dislikes?

HMO????? Those companies SUCKS! Believe me, I used to be a claims adjustor and those things are BAD! The BCBS PPO Network I used to know, were very good and doctors like them better than HMOs.

That is just for the state of Illinois in general. I did process alot of AL and MS claims along with midwestern states and BC BS was the best one and popular at that time.

I dont know how it is now since it was changed.

If you are with BC BS, can you cover your hubby under your plan? Then HMO would be secondary. That way you dont lose your fav specialists and doctors.

All very confusing...why can't the US have a NHS like here...it makes life so much simpler.....for everyone.....

. DH saw an add for a job and he's thinking of applying just to see...but...benefits are a huge thing and I despise HMO's for the most part; they're so hard to get anything paid (brother and Sis have HMO's, its terrible). I've never heard of this plan so I was hoping someone else had it. I've been with BC/BS since 1988 - never another company and always PPO - I'd be lost if I went HMO.

EC - I think we're all on the fence on that one LOL! Some want it..some dont - sticky line to walk

why not just keep your bcbs they cover spouses?
