Silkie Ameracaunas are pure ameracaunas that have been selectively breed so that the hookless gene is expressed. At least those are the silkie ameracaunas I got they where ebay eggs from a breed in North Carolina. The silkied ameracaunas haven't hatched yet but I will be sure to post pictures on here when they do! The lady I got them from on here had pictures up and they are blue/black/splash and look like regular ameracaunas but they have soft feathers like the silkies. I don't think they are an actual cross of a silkie and an ameracauna. I've never had ameracaunas before so i'm really excited to get some different colored eggs as wellThey are due to hatch in about a week and a half!
have to smile because mine hatched over the weekend and i'm trying very hard to see if any are showing blue yet! the light one could be buff? I didn't get a buff hatched, but it would have been a long shot anyway. Per Chad, the blue won't show until they start feathering out a little. buff is splash, and if you get one it increases the odds of blue offspring
Okay that's what I kind of thought just didn't know how to word it haha! I am so new to all the genetics part of chickens and it all confuses me a lot!
