Hey everyone, I'm thinking about raising a flock (6 or less) of backyard chickens for the very first time! Anyone have information on the zoning and permit laws in Charleston, WV?

good luck trying to find out the laws. The answer depends on who you ask! I'm outside city limits in Crosslanes, but we asked about Kanawha county laws and nobody knows. You might want to try calling the courthouse?

Do you sell your Lav. Ameraus? I'm trying to get some lavs but didn't want to go all the way to Ohio for them. I'm also looking for blue & blue splash Silkies if anyone has any hatching soon!!!

I do sell chicks and eggs. Chicks are $5 each straight run, I don't ship. Eggs are $30 per dz. I'll have to have 3 weeks to ensure they are pure as I'm just now moving my blue wheaten birds out of that pen this weekend. PM me and let me know how many you are interested in and I'll pop them in the incubator. My lavenders are also barred, so you may end up with barred lavender, lavender or cuckoo ameraucana. chances are they will be all lavender as I don't think any of my barred are laying yet, but I just wanted to be sure you were aware of that.

Im on the outskirts of Huntington close to Wayne...I started raising chickens in spring and now have some incubating.

I should mention this is the first time incubating...I got a hovabator for christmas and got my daughter a brinsea mini so we could hatch together. She seems to enjoy it...so we will see what hatches if anything.

good luck!!! beware... hatching is even more addicting than just owning chickens... once you realize how many different breeds you can have once you can hatch your own... look out
