Anyone in WV???

Pics
I was having trouble finding myself! Looks as if I was placed in Lost River (26810) instead of Walker in Wood County 26180. If you move me home to Walker (on the banks of the Little Kanawha River) it will be the easiest move ever :D

OH, must of been dyslexic that day, the city the map gives is Freeport for 26180, do i have it right?

Now that was an easy move, don't ya wish it was that simple?? I'm still unpacking stuff from a move 2 years ago. I swear I don't know where all this stuff came from.

No, sorry...it's Walker, WV 26180...near Parkersburg, WV.

Oops...I was not familiar with Freeport, but my hubby says it's only about 10 miles away, so that's close enough I think...THANKS! :D

Yes I thought about that and am still debating that option. I do have instruction to contact me first but I know how some people don't read content. I need to still add my breed pages and get updated photos of my birds. It was a lot of content and by the end of the third day my shoulders were screaming at me to quit typing.

I like the way you have drop down menus on your tabs, I think I'm going to add something like that. Your pics are awesome too. What type of camera do you have? My second favorite hobby, after chickens, is writing. I want to add some nice crisp photos to my blog. Right now I'm using my Ipad3 for photos but want to invest in a good camera and photo editing software.

Oh I've been thinking about your Blue Slate eggs, I have a tom and would like to pair him up. Do you have a lot of trouble moving eggs or poults from them locally? I've not had much interest in my turkeys locally, chicken, geese and ducks seem to be what is hot here but in my heart I want that boy to have a wife.

turkeys sold like crazy last year and I couldn't give the ducks away. Funny how people want one thing one year and something else the next. I think pricing is key, I sold poults between 8 and 10 dollars depending on how old they were. Last year all I had were the midget whites. I'm no sure how the slates will sell.

I have a pentax dslr camera we got about 4 years ago. Its been a great camera. My chickens are not people friendly lol, so the long lens lets me get some decent pictures from a distance. When they are in a good mood, I can use the shorter lens.

red slate and this guy i belive has every breed of rare turkey

I"m really curious about the Red Slate, I wonder if it is a cross between a Blue Slate and a Bourbon Red. I'll have to try that pairing next year. Or maybe it could be a Black Spanish with a Blue Slate. I'm going to post the question on the turkey board. There are some real science people on there.

It will be 2 years I've been doing this in Aug, but last year I had interest in geese, this year it's still geese. I have had a couple of people interested in turkey eggs. I think I may mess around a little with color variations if I don't get a lot of interest. I might as well have fun with it. right??

Thanks for the info on the camera, I can't afford one right now but I want to start looking around. I have a friend who does amateur photography and I am going to see what she uses too. I'll check out the pentax. Any extra money right now is going to add another duck breed and chicken breed to my farm. I want another breed of goose too, heck I want about 3 different breeds of everything. Good thing my pocket book is not as expansive as my want list.

I'm going to do some more editing and add your link, I think if we all network we will be stronger as a group. It seems like we keep different breeds and can nudge buyers to WV breeders. No offense to any other state ya know, I just like keeping things local.
