Anyone in WV???

Omg Blue laced red wyandottes! if anyone has not seen them you have got to take a look I hear they are very beautiful birds. lol my little man snookered his pawpaw into buff orpingtons today. lol going to the feed store is such a risk when it's chick season.

The pics of them I saw on internet are beautiful! Dadburnit! Now I want a few!!! Lol.
Lol...little mans quite the business man too I see! Lol. Where did they get the chicks and how many he get? I put eggs in bator tonight. Sigh...couldn't help myself. Ameracaunas in 21 days if anyones interested. So sad... this chicken addiction is bad! Hi, my name is Daddy Roo and I'm addicted to chickens! Lol

Tractor Supply, we were supposed to go to southern states for their truck load feed sale. and kiddo asked the man behind the counter "where are your chicks?" when the man said he didn't have any he said okay but you could tell he was disappointed so pawpaw volunteered to take him to TSC and poof there they were and he came out with buff orpingtons. I should have seen it coming my dad buys him a batch of chicks every year. Last year it was black austrolorps and EE (they waited for 2 hours for the chicks to come in off the truck)

I was born and raised in Chicago, Il, and my folks moved us to Boone county WV when I was in 6th grade. Big change! Reno is beautiful! My brother lives in Las Vegas. My daughter and grandkids live in Logan county, WV. I want more chickens, turkeys, ducks and goats. Lol.

I'll have to send you pics when my goat kids :) it should be really really soon!!! I'm not a huge fan of turkeys but I don't like noisy birds. I want guineas for the bug control but omg the sound they make.... And I heard you can't let them free range, they'll just leave. So if I buy 200, maybe 10 will stick around?lol

You need to part with one at my house! Lol! What colors are they? I loved my silkies. Ordered straight run from my pet chicken...but hatched out a clutch with one of the broodies. Talk about a happy day! Those chicks made my day! I had one splash, and he was my favorite. So pretty. I had a black roo that was just plain evil. My washer/dryer are in my garage and he would flog me when I turned my head. Had to fight with the booger with a broom! He was fearless! Little turd bird. Imagine going to garage to feed them, and they are gone. In thin air. Just disappeared. My garage is the ground floor of my house and I have a garage door opener (can't be opened manually) and I have a burglar alarm. Ya know...my BCM's are down there now. Yikes! Hadn't thought about that! Ugh. At $10.00 each for day old chicks, I best get their outside coup fixed asap! These are your future BCM's parents too! Lol.
The dye was only on their fuzzy down. They always feathered out white. They were cute but many suffered no doubt.

I'm not sure what color they are! I know two will be some kind of blue, one is black, and the rest are "white", but I don't think they'll all stay pure white.
When they get older I'll probably give you one if you want :) I'm not selling them but I'd give them to a friend.
That's scary! How could they get out? That makes no sense! I don't have a "coop", I use an old shed (completely predator proof and ventilation), it has wire and tposts around it, I have a little coop/run thing for my three grown silkies (we call it silkie settlement lol), and any "extra" birds are down free trading at the barn.
Oh so one of the brahma roos that was missing showed up after the dog problem was solved. He is beat up but going to make it. I need to investigate further, I'm pretty sure he has a puncture wound. I am not sorry the dog is gone at all. And a little game hen showed back up too, she's missing tail feathers but seems to be okay.

I want to hatch out some olive eggers in late summer...if anyones interested in a few. My question...should I cross my BCM's roo with my ameracaunas hens, or my ameracauna roo with a couple of my BCM's pullets? I don't think it matters, but id love to hear my chicken friends ideas about it. Wvchickduck, you have a lot of experience with chickens, what you think I should do? I think dark olive eggs are beautiful, and will look awesome with my ameracaunas, BCM, barred rock and RIR eggs. Green eggs and ham anyone? Lol.

Let me do some research for you :) I'll get back with you!

Oops...I was wrong...they won't have ameracaunas. Sorry.

Here's what they will have.
White Rock
Blue Laced Red Wyandotte
Golden Laced Wyandotte
Welsummer
Buff Orpington
Golden Buff
Black Australoup
...these are all pullets.

Will also have White Pekin and Mallard ducks.

Their April 27 order includes...
Rhode Island Red
New Hampshire Red
Barred Rock
Buff Orpington
Black Giant

I'm really not a Wyandotte fan.... They're flighty and can be sassy, but I might buy some blrw just because allot of people seem to want them so they'd be a good investment .
I won't get mallard, they are prone to flying away :/ I'll probably be down there when they open, but I'll probably need to sell some of my babies lol hubby is chill but I'm pushing 60 birds

that happens so quickly..... I'm totally a victim of chicken math lol

I bought 2 turkey poults last spring. One died within days. The other turned out to be my best bud. He slept on my shoulder. He was such a sweet bird! Loved to show off when I bragged on him, and he started to gobble early. I really loved him...but that was the dumbest bird I've ever seen. Lol.
I've never had guinea fowl, but my grandpa did. They are so ugly, and I don't know what they are good for.

Oh no...you're gonna have kids? Oh no! Don't show me!! Lol! Just kidding, I can't wait to see them! I want one!!! What kind are they?

That's such great news about the missing birds. Poor things were hiding from that ***** dog! I'm glad they are safe.
The chicks are adorable!!! My gosh!!! I have chick fever so bad...and there's nothing cuter than silkie chicks.
That's how I am...id rather give a bird away to a friend than sell one to a stranger. I gave my turkey to this couple that had a pet hen turkey that was lonely. I had people begging to buy him...fresh turkey for Thanksgiving.
My coup is actually a tool shed that's got vinyl siding, a metal window and glass windowed door. Lol. People I bought house from built it as a work shop. Its varmit proof.

Oh! You live close to Greens too? Where do you live? I'm on the west side hill in Charleston. I could walk to Greens. After I saw a puc of the blrw, it made me want a few. Grrr... I am getting a few Welsummers. Maybe we can meet at Greens.
I set 11 ameracaunas eggs last night and am stressing about homes for them. Lol. Chicken math...who knew?!? Lol.
I wish you still had the little frizzle guy. He was so cute! He would travel on my shoulder. Lol.
