Anyone interested in a "Mutt" egg chain?

I would but I've got a 'bator full and my roo JUST started doing his duty. I see a couple of his girls' eggs are fertile but I don't know what the percentage rate is yet. Think I'd better set it out for another month until I can run a test hatch.

Sorry, I didn't want to exclude anyone!!

... It would be good to post what kind of hens are in your flock and what kind of roos you have. Then the actual hatched chicks would be a surprise but give the recipient an idea if they were going to be banty, game, silkies, etc. Again sorry if I made anyone feel like I wanted to leave them out.

i have no problem with naming what hens i have ,and my 1 roo...i will just have no idea who laid what egg...​

What a great response! Thanks to everyones input.. I love the "Designer Egg Chain" idea. It is much more catchy than "Mutt" eggs. I agree, just list what breeds you have that the mixes could possibly be, and let the babies be surprises. I will be checking the board all night and I am putting together a 'rules' list for everyone just so we can have everything set. I will post the thread in the morning with the first offer to get the chain started. Thanks again everyone for the positive response...

I would be interested. I think people should tell what breed the hen is and what breed the roo is. Also I think they should have hatched some of the eggs themselves and proven that they are fertile.

The only problem with that is for people like me

I can usually tell which hen laid which egg, but of the mixed chickens? I have one bird of each breed, and most of them are mixed as well! Plus I have 8 or 9 different roos, and there are at least 6 different breeds of those! And some of those are also mixed themselves! I think something like a list of what the parents could be, instead of what they are. I have standards and bantams all running around the yard, and only 2 of the roos are standards

ETA: Guess I should have read a bit further! Looks like you guys already got it figured out! Will this one banish anyone offering game/quail eggs as well?​

I think your calendar is wrong! Mine says April!

(Oh yeah, and the ducks are mixed as well...too much trouble to seperate them right now! Maybe next year?
