Anyone into Geocaching?

Hi, Caroline, I'm Caroline also! My hubby, Ben, and I have geocached in several states as we travel. It is fun! Here in J'ville, we have found caches at Cecil Commerce Center and Maxville and Camp Blanding and the road to Macclenny (228). We have a hand held GPS that gets pretty close to the actual site, but the best finds are from deducing the clues on the sheet we print out from the website. Good luck. This is perfect weather for the hunt 'cause it gets too hot and sticky for woods trekking most of the time.

Hi All, I have been Geocaching for about 8 years now, Love the sport.
Personally I do not like the mini & micro caches, sometimes I think they are put there just so folks can rack up a high number of "finds"
I like to swap 'goodies' and travel bugs.
My goal is to Geocach in as many states and countries as I can.
So far I have 27 states and 9 countries, mostly in the Caribbean.

Tom

Not counting, makes remembering each cache more fun.

I love to Geocach, I like to mix my two largest hobbies together from time to time. I do rock crawling in Colorado and in Utah at least 3 times a year at one or the other location. All around the mountain trails in CO are many, many items to be found. It’s a blast for sure! When it comes to Geocaching I have a small group that I like to do it with. We call ourselves the Nightcrawlers because we prefer to do it at night so it’s really hard sometimes.

I haven't been in many years but my DH does it with the kids. I think I'm going to go along the next time. We've gotten into the " split and conquer " routine with the kids. I end up missing out on the fun. I think I'd like to have more fun!!

I like the idea of chicken Geocaching!! My DH has a website and he has some cache sites there, some of which he has placed. (http://www.hiddensandiego.com/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page).

I’m shocked that not more people do this????

I've found that most people have never heard or tried it yet. My wife and I use just our cell phones some times to play but every now and then I have to get out my Garmin. The point is, for the most part this is a great outdoors sport that is cheap to get started in! heck My wife and I go out with our parents to find this all the time. My parents are nearing there 70's.

Sorry I just hate to see such a fun thing go to waste...
