You can train most dogs to be chicken friendly. Just takes lots of time and consistency. We have had labs, Pitbulls, golden retrievers, and now our Great Pyr. I worked with them daily to set ground rules and let the dogs know the chickens aren't food or toys. We need a couple dogs because we have a big coyote population and the dogs will also chase off hawks and owls.
