Hello. I'm looking for a good friendly, QUIET, bantam breed that I can use for showing. Anyone have breed suggestions? Or smallish breeds. Please also say some expiriences you've had with them. Thanks! (Also, not too hard to perfect! I'm not breeding them, I want a selection to show) Any breeders?

I would say d'uccles, cochins, or silkies.

I'd also suggest silkies, cochins, and duccles. I know there are pleanty of great quailty silkie breeders check out the lavender silkies? forum there are tons of great breeders chatting on this thread!

Gotta love the silkies! I personally like cochins and brahmas too. How quiet they are depends a lot on the individual bird too....not to say some breeds aren't more quiet than others, just that a few of my birds are A LOT louder than the others of the same breed. If you make them really tame as you raise them, they will be a lot quieter(this doesn't pertain to roosters, who might decide to be extremely tame and crow every other minute) Good luck choosing your breed!

The silkies I have are talkers!! The quietest birds we have are Black tail Japanese (they kinda coo and the rooster is even quiet) and my RIR Bantams are pretty quiet.

Don't know about all of them but my silkies are very low key and always talk in their best indoor voices.......they just sort of coo. The roo does make a very sorry attempt at a crow but compared to my bantam cochin roo, he is whispering!

My bantam cochins are quieter than the silkies, who crow and talk more. But I could use more silkies, two roos to one poor hen isn't a good ratio.
