Anyone know about snake musk?

We have snakes. That's not my biggest concern. I think most of them are rat snakes. Does anyone know how far their musk will travel? Google isn't much help.

ETA we're trying to locate their location in the yard.

Idk about rat snakes but our garter snakes usually have a 20x20 square ft smell range depending on air current where we live
