Anyone know gender and breed?

Hey guys, so a few months back my mom an I (Life time chicken and duck lovers) decided to get turkey chicks from a local feed store.

they are pretty grown up now and I named the all white one Sammy and the black and white one Dean (anyone recognize those names hehe) because we thought dean was a boy and sammy a girl.
well today I was talking to them because they seem very vocal an talk back. Then we noticed that the white ones neck got very red.


a few minutes later, it was back to normal!

I started cooing at them and back came the red neck. So is sammy really Dean? can anyone also tell me the breed?

I'm not good at sexing turkeys, so I can't tell you what gender yours are (though I'd guess both females). The black/white one is a Royal Palm, and the other one is probably a Midget White, Beltsville Small White, or another smaller white turkey variety.

Just one word of advice: there is only one domesticated turkey breed. However, there are many varieties in that breed. Your turkeys are both lovely specimens of their varieties.

Thanks! We grabbed them from the same cage so i wonder if there were more than one variety!

Boy not sure of breed. Could be a white holland or beltsville small white.

I think they are both girl, are there still feathers on the back of the head and neck, little ones, or are they completely bald.

Hens keep a bit of feathers up the neck to the back of the head, toms don't, I'm sticking with both hens.

I am new to this site and to raising chickens and turkeys. Right now I have nine hens,,,,I believe they are all hens! And, one turkey! I also am raising two golden pheasant. My question is...is my turkey a male or female...I think female from what I have read, but she seems so big! Also, can aNone tell me what breed?

She does appear to be a hen and based on how heavy her legs are, she is a broad breasted bronze.
