Anyone know if Buff Orpington chicks are supposed to be obnoxious?

Keep trying and spend time with them, like the above give them treats ( my Orpingtons and silkies love shaved ham / bacon) Some will never be friendly and will always be scittish especially If they are raised on a rural / free range farm with little human contact

Thanks for the treat ideas. They loved it! I'm going to try some bananas soon too. (The ones I bought were green, so I thought I'd wait until they ripen up.)

I have 4 Buff Orpington 8-week old chicks. I can honestly say all four of them are not the brightest and kinda obnoxious but not really in a negative way. They are just really goofy. On the other hand, they are pretty sweet too once you get ahold of them. They tend to be the ones that "yell" the loudest at me when they want my attention. Plus one of my little stinkers decided to fly up on my shoulder and poop today. It was wonderful since I hadn't put my hair up. I smelled it but couldn't see it of course. (Thanks alot Peanut)!

It seems to me that BOs are very food driven. Give lots of yummy goodies! When I get ahold of my BOs they tend to make some noise but once you sshhh them and start petting they do like that and tend to settle down. However, I have discovered that chickens do have different personalities and yours may take a little work to get the ice truly broken. Good luck!
