Anyone know of an easy way to catch a duck?

So I've been tasked with taking care of my husband's ducks — it's a long story, but I will be doing this on my own for at least a couple months. One duck has a piece of string wrapped around its foot and his other ankle is swollen. I think it's bumblefoot, which I have no experience with, so I'm not sure. He's eating and can move fast enough that trying to catch him is extremely difficult... So, hence my question. Also, I'm working pretty much on my own, so anything I do will be a solo operation.

Can you catch them while they are sleeping after dark, or an hour before sunrise? The string should be removed asap since it could potentially cut off circulation in the flipper. Pictures of any sores or scabs on the bottom of the feet would be helpful.

2nd this. Night time is best. If not, a fishing net - used gently and with small holes - is our go to.

One of our ducks escaped right out of the car trunk when we first brought them in... We chased it around a bit and finally got the idea to throw a tarp over it. So that's our solution for such situations so far.
