Awesome! I can’t wait until they start laying! That’s just my opinion. But if that is what it is you’re very lucky because you got an extremely friendly egg laying machine
That’s great! I live in Minnesota so it can get cold in the winter so I am happy I didn’t end up with a bird that doesn’t handle cold well! She looks like my production red "cinnamon queen" pullets. And yes, they lay faithfully, daily, all through winter too with no supplemental heating or lighting. I love my "red birds" as I call them. I have five of these sweet girls. They are at the top of the pecking order but very friendly none the less. Have fun with your ladies!!
These are my first ones! We just got 4 for now, I never thought I’d love chicken so much! They are totally underrated! They remind me of my dogs lolMost breeds mixed with a Rhode Island red are pretty winter hardy. I have Rhode Island Reds and a couple different types of Rhode Island Red mixes they are the ones usually out in the cold the most and when egg laying goes down in the winter they are usually the ones laying the most. These your first chicks. Or do you have more?
Haha yea they do!!!Definitely underrated since they pay their own rent in a way. LOL. You sound like me. Like chicken math is going to hit you really quick
