Hi there.
A lady sent me these two pictures and told me she is selling the babies from these adults.
She told me they are purebred Vuurpote Pekin Bantams but I don't believe there is any such breed as this name she has given me.
Does anyone have any idea what they are?
Many thanks.

Google searched Vuurpote Pekin Bantams. Pekin Banams came up. I have never heard of these and they did not come up on google search. That does not mean they aren't a pure breed might just be rare. Vuurpote is Afrikaner language that is as far as I got. They are so pretty. does it matter?

They look like Mille Fleur D’Uccles. Maybe she was told the wrong thing when she originally got them?

That’s interesting because D’Uccles are a Belgian breed and Afrikaans has Dutch roots.

They look like Mille Fleur Dutch Booted bantams, definitely not D'Uccles as they do not have a beard and muffs and body type is not right for Cochins.

Yes I also searched and found that "Vuurpote" is Afrikaans which makes sense since this lady who told me about these birds is Afrikaans but I asked some other Afrikaans friends and they laughed saying she is just making up breed names that don't exist like people do with dogs like for example when they cross a Maltese with a Toy French Poodle and they tell people it is a purebred Maltipoo just so they can sell their mongrel puppies. A bit nasty but I am always curious as to what different breeds of animals are and I like to know.
Yes it does matter, I don't believe in people telling lies and then the new buyer believes the lie and tries to enter their new chickens into a show only to discover that they were dooped into believing something that is not true. I feel bad for people who get caught out, it happens a lot here because people just believe what they hear instead of researching for themselves. I mean, this woman actually wants me to buy these birds, I think they are pretty but what will I do with them if I cannot show them because I show my birds, that is just what I do, ha ha.
