I noticed this on my chickens foot today. Can anyone help me figure out what it is? I tried to get it off with tweezers but it’s either stuck there or it’s in her foot. She’s been lifting up her foot so it is bothering her

I would soak her feet in warm Epsom salts water for around 15-20 minutes to soften the scab. That can make it easier to pick off, and then you can squeeze out the solid core of hardened cheese-like pus inside. Sometimes surgery is preferred and quicker. But many prefer the soaking and gradual approac. Some people use clear iodine on a dressing and wrap the foot for a couple of days to soften the scab and disinfect it. Others use TriSide Neo to soak the feet. There are many ways to approach bumblefoot. Here is some reading:

I was able to get the scab off and i worked at it for a little bit with no success on getting the pus out. I put some triple antibiotic on it with the Vetricine Plus, put a piece of gauze and wrapped it with vet tape. I will try to get the pus out tomorrow, i didn’t want to make it bleed

Our typical approach is to pull the scab off, squeeze out any pus, soak in diluted iodine (a weak tea color is what we aim for) for about ten minutes, then fill hole with neosporin and wrap. If it's not a major case we will often skip the wrapping and just continue to reapply neosporin. You just don't want it to get any more infected.

I was squeezing it but i didn’t want to hurt her. How should i be squeezing it to get the pus out?
While it may be a gross way to explain it, have you ever popped a pimple that has not quite gotten to the surface yet? That's how we go about it. It can take a lot of squeezing to get the pus up and out. If you see blood don't freak out, totally normal.

If she does happen to bleed do i just apply pressure until it stops? Luckily she’s our calmer chicken so she was actually falling asleep while i was trying to get it out😅
