Hi there,

Anyone know what type of chicken this may be and hen or rooster?! She’s about 8wks old and decent size - about double the size of our barred rock.

At 8 weeks that looks like a cockerel. It might be a white leghorn but it's hard for me to tell, a lot of white chickens start out looking very similar.

100% cockerel. Leghorns shouldn't be larger than Barred Rocks, unless of course this one is developing much more quickly.

Eh, if it is a Leghorn, I wouldn't yet say 100% male.

Any other breed with such a pink comb so early, sure.

But my white Leghorns are always tricking me, with the girls at times pinking up at insane early ages.

We have a light Brahma that’s double the size of our other 5 day old chicks.
