My 10 year old daughter just sat on Santas lap and asked for a brinsea incubator for Christmas. I have scoured the internet and it seems they are all backordered unless I buy one on ebay for upwards of $300.00:( Is the automatic turner a huge deal? I could get her the mini eco and manually turn. We have never used an incubator only a broody.

If you click on the items you linked-they are out of stock and it says they will not come by Christmas. Anyone else? Do stores sell brinsea?

you want an egg turner unless you want to turn the eggs two/three times a day for 18 days. also, some people say the less you touch them and/or open the incubator, the better. many people have egg turners (myself included - - however, i have manually turned before, too). your call. you can do a search here to read what people have to say about both methods.

I have purchased items from Amazon third party sellers and been happy with the items. I do read seller ratings, of course.

Another thought, could Santa leave a picture of one, saying the elves didn't realize how many other people would want them, and as soon as they catch up, she will get the one he reserved for her?

I emailed a few distributors and they all said no chance. I may just buy the eco directly from brinsea so she has something to unwrap from santa and then return it(unopened of course) for the advance when it is in stock. I don't think an IOU from santa is going to work. I had no idea she would ask for one or I would have gotten it sooner!

Hey! The picture thing might work. I already told her we were not going to hatch until at least march;)
