'Due to hatch' this weekend (cross your fingers) I have 7 and I think one is an olive egger, one might be a brahma, one is tan so it could be anything but my guess is orpington, then I think maybe 2 barnevelders & a Welsummer but I'm stumped on this one... I'm just going by the eggs what 'the guy' told me. What do you think about this egg?

Does it give you any idea what kind it is?  Congrats btw!
Thanks :-) 4 more of the other 6 are pipping away in there too ( no ones 'due' to hatch till tonight so this fella is ahead of the clutch a bit.) I'm thinking maybe speckled sussex... Maybe

All of the SS I've ever owned have laid a pale cream colored egg. The egg could be a welsummer on the light spectrum, but they're usually colored more like the egg behind it. The markings on the head are similar to my wellies and SS as chicks, my Barnies have had a full brown head..not the V. None of this matters much since they're probably not purebreds, just giving my .02 cents.

Well I have lots of barnies and I think this guys too light. The guy I got these from has breeding pens with 'pure' 'show quality' birds so he says, he seemed nice and I didn't ask him to lable them just give me cold hearty egg layers so cross your fingers. I'm leaning toward russian orloff just because the egg was that shape ... He's got 2 buddies already :-) he's bigger than them though
