Anyone Manage Leg Deformity Long-Term?

I think/hope your vet will be able to answer those questions. I've never had a chick with varus/slipped tendon so don't currently have any advice to offer. But I think your new chick is very lucky that you have a vet that treats birds, and that you are willing to pay for surgery. I will follow this thread, and maybe I can help later. Thanks for the tag @Weeg .
Your welcome! I figured you’d want to follow along.
I agree that Twiggy is very lucky to have you @Aunt Angus. With s as nylons else she would have been culled. She’s in good hands with you. 🤗

Thanks for that, but we'll see. Hopefully I'm not just making things worse.
You're certainly not making things worse. Your trying. Who knows, maybe she gets a good long fantastic life when nobody else would. We both know the alternative, but I wouldn't worry about that until you have to. There's no point in that. I'm purely guessing, I have had a slipped tendon chick, but I've never seen it in adults. I could easily be wrong.

What is Twiggy? That crest is almost Spitz like but it looks frizzled and looks to be a Silkie maybe? I'm terrible at guessing breeds so don't laugh at me too hard 😂
Oh my gosh - I'd never laugh! That'd be the pot calling the kettle black! You should read some if the huge swings and misses I've posted trying to guess breeds.

She's a frizzled Polish. I have no idea what to call her color. I've never seen it before.

We're enjoying outside time to get some sunshine therapy this morning. Waiting for the vet to open so I can get an urgent appt.
