    Anyone
lose a pheasant in Pleasant Hill, California? It was found yesterday, approx. north of Oak Park Blvd. & west of Pleasant Hill Rd.

A nice person stopped to ask me if it was mine. I didn't actually see the pheasant, because it was in a pet carrier, but I called my friend in the local bee club who has a pair of Chinese pheasants to make sure it was not his. We talked to my friend's wife, who checked on their pheasants, and said 'yep, ours is here, and yep, the males are the ones who escape.'

I was sorry I could not take the poor guy in, but I wanted to err on the side of good biosecurity for my chickens.

    Thanks,
    Paula
