ANYONE ON THAT CAN HELP QUICK!!UPDATE!!! GUESS WHAT I FOUND TONIGHT!!!

I would leave the temp alone, move them to the hatcher and up the hum, I'm not sure what you mean by "you covered the hole for a min" But I wouldnt cover a pip hole that would be how the chick is breathing... Also be carful about putting water near the pip hole you dont want to drowned the chick with to much water. It can take a chick up to 48 hours to fully hatch so maybe he/she isen't all that early !!! Maybe your dates were a dayish off !!!! I wouldnt worrie to much at this point....

By covering the hole I meant I put that side in the hollow of my hand while I used the egg candler at the top so air would not come in contact with the hole I then dipped my finger in water and what was left on it I touched the side where the pip is before putting it in the hatcher. Hope I didn't harm it...

Ahhhh, got it !!!!! Just be carful not to cut off the air supply !!!! I would just leave them alone now and let nature take its course, Unless it's not out in 48 hours... GOOD LUCK !!!!!!

My DD came in for the weekend from college and after being gone all day I took her down to see my peeping pip and guess what...It wasn't there. Looked around in the hatcher and found a feisty little chickie trying every which way to get out of the hatcher.

Good for you Cindy!!

P.S.--I always have at least one chick that pips on day 18. That is with using 4 different thermometers, with a fan, without a fan, whatever you cold think of, other than lowering the temp. Almost all of my chicks hatch by day 19. I don't have any breeding japs (yet!

), but my other banties always do this. Most of my hens hatched early as well. Remember, I had 4 this summer (so far, still have one broody!). I think maybe one of them hatched at day 21 like she was supposed to.
