The weather is finally cooling down and it's perfect painting weather !

We have 3 large chicken houses to paint.

One spans 4 pens, the other 2 span 2 pens.

I decided on a very pale light pastel pink. It took a whole quart of primer paint to paint about 1/4 of the house.

With a better idea of how much paint it is going to take to finish the rest, I decided on choosing 3 other colors since the other parts are in 3 other pens.

One other house is already an ice blue (a very pale light blue).

Anyone else painting or have ideas on color palettes ?

i did mine a lighter shade of blue. since you have the pink, and blue allready, you can throw in another "coastal" color. what about a pale limeish green or a shade of teal?

I got the trim painted yesterday (finally yay) and another coat today

yeah thats what i wanted originally, barnyard red w/white trim. the wife was against it....
so the last thing i wanted to do is get her on my bad side so "we" (she) decided on staining the coop the same color as the deck.
i was very pleased with the end results. i painted the door of the coop the same color as the doors to the house.

I wanted "barn red" with white trim too, but we crossed our fingers and looked for paint on the reduced shelf.
We got a nice burgandy-red and hunter green trim. Each can was about $5 so I'm not complaining. We built the coop out of a playhouse kit that was given to us (a big blessing considering the $100's of dollars a coop costs).
Here's the nearly finished result. The porch and beams are hunter green:

The reds look 1000% better.

The other color looks dead, dreary, cold, lonely, no life and boring compared to the red.

Ask her to re-think that.
