Anyone ready to ring in the new year...and lose weight/get fit?

Sounds like everyone hear is on the same track...pay better attention to what you're eating, drink more water and exercise. That's not dieting, that's readjusting ones intake and attitude. For most of us, doing this will result in weight loss.
Getting some support and a few "atta-boys" from others that understand that it's not always easy is what were looking for. It IS a gradual change, one that we would like to start on Jan. 1st.

Rofl, NO I'm not freakin kidding you!!!!!

I shouldn't have used the word ''diet''. I plan on cutting out a lot of the junk food, pop, and chocolate milk I consume, and cut back on eating at night. And of course, eat more fruits and veggies. That is something I really need to work on.

I plan on weighing in every Saturday morning

I'm right there with you, same weight, loss and everything.... I try not to call it a diet though... more like food managment! portion control lets me eat things I like so I don't feel like I'm denying myself anything. I'll be getting back on the tread mill real soon. I was proud of myself for not regaining the 8 lbs I lost over the holidays! I can't say I'm all that young anymore being 45..

I already cut out pop for the most part, not so hooked on it anymore. I drink tea w/splenda (I hate sweetners, but got to have something sweet and warm in the morning to drink and I hate coffee). I eat small portions and stick to serving sizes... if it says 1/2 cup oatmeal, thats all I get. Generally a day for me is an oatmeal packet for Breakfast, banana, pear mid day snack before or after lunch. Lunch would be one of those steamed lunches, and dinner is generally some home canned food combination. I've managed to lose 8 lbs, and still drink a beer or two. I'd like to get away from the prepared foods for lunch, but I hate sandwiches! I may or may not eat dinner. I generally only do one or two meals a day. Need to get on the treadmill everyday for 1/2 hr. I want to lose the weight by changing what I'm eating, and I'm not pressuring myself to lose it all in a certain time frame because I don't want to get discouraged and stop eating the way I simply should eat.

If you do go out to eat, one of my friends suggests getting a to go box before you even start eating, cut everything on your plate in half and save the other half for another meal.

Hey is anybody interested in the recipe I use for protein cookies?

I saw someone else had a sweet tooth and I don't much but my husband has a HUGE one but he's supposed to be a bodybuilder (go figure) and always messes up on sweets while at work (hiding from me)... so I made protein cookies! Now he gets his sweet fix and I don't have to ask him why he's fat even though I've only been cooking boiled chicken for two weeks....

6 egg whites
1 3/4c oatmeal
2 tsp brown sugar or sugar replacement
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup un-sweetened apple sauce
1 cup scoops chocolate (or vanilla) whey powder
2 dashes cinnamon
1 tsp virgin olive oil
1 tsp agave
1/2 cup raisins/chopped dates/sultanas/sweettinyfruitofsomekind

Combine all ingredients.

Pre-heat oven to 325, bake for 20 minutes, Makes 1 dozen fat cookies with 14g of protein and BONUS - they actually taste good!

Ok, everyone.. I'll join.
I don't need to loose any weight BUT I DO want to eat healthier. I fluctuate between 125 - 130 (5'10) but lately I keep stuffing my face with sugary goodies. It's not so much about weight for me, but more about monitoring what I put into my body and making sure it is HEALTHY food. Being back home for the holidays hasn't helped.

I will say, being thin isn't everything. For the first time in probably ten years I am a decent weight according to my height and age. I'm only 18 but I used to weigh over 180 at 13-14. Now I have to make sure I don't fall off the wagon, had to buy clothes that actually FIT, deal with more noticeable stretch marks, bones that stick out in places I don't know bones were at, etc.

My advice to anyone, would be to go through your cupboards and fridge and THROW OUT any foods that aren't good for you. Keep processed foods to a minimum. This is easy if you live alone, but if you have family members, make it a joint goal... It will help them in the long run, too. Just because someone is thin doesn't mean they are healthy. My brother has always looked anorexia thin, but drinks pop galore, sugary processed foods, etc. etc. On the outside he appears somewhat healthy, but on the inside his arteries and organs are taking a toll and that's not good in the long run.

I do yoga here too, but nothing 'serious', which I would love to change.
I recently got the Biggest Loser Weight Loss Yoga dvd (http://www.amazon.com/Biggest-Loser...5TLI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1293568548&sr=8-1) to try and tone up more and have a more specific and set routine, but it's at my apt and I haven't watch it yet... I'll let you know when I do!

Can you tell me about inhale and pilates?

Anyone else do any workout/fitness activities? I currently do some weight lifting and love the muscles I'm gaining in my arms.
I've been doing situps regularly for many months now and I think they've lost their affect. I do 100 a day but I'm thinking I should go up to 200 a day; half in the morning, half before bed. Any ideas?

Are -awesome- at targeting abs/obliques and glutes. Perked up things I didn't know needed perking! :3 (also, thank you for letting me search for that - meow!)
