Anyone ready to ring in the new year...and lose weight/get fit?

I am feeling SO GOOD. I want to post before/afters I feel so good!! You can definitely see change in me (I did take photos just to mark it) and it's a looot even though my scale says nothing has changed.

EVERYONE says I look heavier, but I'm not. And it's not even 'heavier'.. but 'healthier'. Did I tell you guys my wedding ring FELL OFF a few weeks ago?

Like, it WAS a bit tight.

Who does that happen to?!

Husband says it's in my eyes, my hips, my back and my hands he can see the weight gain (what sad places to see weight on someone...). Flatmates expressed happiness at seeing me eat more than when they first arrived.

I even ate two slices of pineapple upside down cake!!

BUT bad last night... I was so stressed yesterday I did't eat until dinner, where my husband made a pizza (I love when HE makes dinner using MY pizza bases I freeze, MY sauce I freeze and the cheese I already grated, lol..but HE made it, okay!) and I ate about 1/3rd a homemade pizza. All day. I use wholemeal and masa (it's good!) to make my crust so it's healthy. And the sauce is nothing more than stewed herby tomatoes and garlic. So... I feel bad because it wasn't a greasy calorie filled pizza.

It was probably 600 calories. All day. D: I was just so stressed!!!!! Oh, I had a banana too. Small, so about 70 calories there.

I have an application on my iPhone for tracking calories. I used to hate it because it would get MAD at me for going over even though I was trying to gain (then too, I boomerang a lot) and it would flash red numbers like "omg you're over your calories!!".... I want to be you stupid thing... but but but... it IS still good for tracking calories - so I will be able to use it to see if I've had enough as well as way too little.

I just got my phone fixed so I can use it (and my budget app) again too.

Sorry.

I've been eating until yesterday! Promise!

I know for me it helps to drink lots of water ALL day long. We had a couple's night last night with several friends, so I didn't want to weigh myself this morning, but I still am down 1 pound! We had a salad, ham loaf, mashed potatoes and gravy, dinner rolls, and for dessert: chocolate fondue with fruit, and a heart-shaped brownie with whipped cream and a cherry. I ate very little of the fondue, and all of my brownie, and I was expecting to see a gain!

Baby-sitting was provided at 2 other homes-the 2-year-olds went to my Aunt & Uncle's (They had 3 2-year-olds and 2 1-year-olds at bed-time, but they were very good!) and the older children went to my cousin for a "hen and chick" party. They had several new chicken feeders-one had jelly beans, another had grapes, another had carrots and celery sticks. She scattered popcorn and gummy worms on the table and they had to eat them without hands!

When they wanted more they had to say "peep, peep!" They had chick waterers that they used a straw to drink from. They all had a blast.

I'm not weighing in this week. I injured my back and I've been stressing over some things so, yep, been eating more than what I should. I KNOW I didn't lose, pretty sure I gained. I just don't want to know how much.

I'm restarting on Monday. By then I can get on the treadmill and get my head into it. I haven't been bad...just not extra good.

Congratulations Babymakes6!!!

What a cute idea for a hen party. Here's a pic of a cake I made a while back, just cut out from two round cakes. I made it years ago for more people and just made another round cake to add a nest. There's some "throw away" obviously, but the kids are always ready to handle that! It's from an old "Better Homes & Garden" magazine.

Oh that is THE most adorable cake! Love it, love it, love it!

I think I will join in with you guys here. As many of y'all know, I'm a post gastric bypass patient. I've gone from a size 24 (and even that was snug and holding on for dear life!) to a size 6 and have been at my goal size for about 2 years now. In August of 2009, I was in an accident when I was power-walking and got hit by a bicyclist. Spent 2 days in the trauma unit, had a concusion, broke my collarbone, had a bunch of stitches in my head, and was taken off all exercise for 6 months because I had a pretty serious concussion (was knocked unconscious, still do not really recall the accident, just flashes/bits/pieces). It's been hard for me to get back into the swing of things. I'm still in a 6, but I'm not exercising anymore and I'm not eating as healhy anymore, and I'm *starting* to "muffin-top" outta these size 6 jeans. I don't feel healthy like I did before the accident, and I thought I'd come see how you guys are all doing and see if I can get a little inspiration.

I tell you one thing... I'm inspired to make a chicken cake like that. LOL.

Okay, so I'm at 136.8.

I've been trying to be very careful about my eating. And got back to walking the dog.

Elizabethbinary - Great job!
Oesdog - you are getting healthier. That's the important part. Toss out that scale and start tracking everything you're doing right!

Keep it up everyone. We're doing well - whether the scale is working for us or not, we're getting healthier if we're making healthy choices : eating right, being active.
