Anyone ready to ring in the new year...and lose weight/get fit?

You guys are doing sooooooooooooooooo well!

Hunter, that looks like all the muscle building stuff my husband insists on taking... he's got his own cabinet. Too funny, I'm trying to loss 40 lbs, and he's trying to put it on! HAhahaha

Though I haven't been posting regularly, a lot of us haven't... I haven't quit!

In fact, I've come to scream out "HOORAY!". I met another HUGE goal this week.

I went shopping for clothes yesterday, though I only ended up buying pajamas and nothing else for me... I still tried on a bunch of stuff. First I tried on 3 pairs of cargo capris. I love those things, but as I found certain ones aren't so flattering on my legs as I'm short. BUT I tried them all on as a size 8 and they FIT!!!! I finally got into an 8!!!!

Though I was unhappy with those pants, which I needed, I am going to Walmart tomorrow and getting myself a new Yoga outfit as my XL pants and top no longer fit me from 2 years ago and I need mediums!!!!!!!!!

I am not going to be conquered by my hips.... I am actually winning this battle.

Woohoo! Lots of congrats on this! Lately, whenever I pick up a hand weight (whether 8,10, whatever) I marvel over the fact of how much extra weight that many of us carry and how just 10 extra lbs slows us down. So when I read or hear someone losing weight and are able to exercise more, etc, I'm excited and pleased!

I have added Crossfit to my workout regime.....I am NOT losing weight, but I'm seeing muscles developing in places I've never had before....I'm stronger, too, so I am way excited by this body change!

Well, we know muscle weighs more, so you are in fact losing fat and adding muscle which is MUCH better for your body.

I am still doing my yoga a couple times a week, and my muscles are loving it. I garden a lot so I think that makes a huge difference as well. Good physical activity!!!

Guys - I feel a wee bit low about all this. I am eating one slice of toast for breakfast with scrambled egg NO butter. OK maybe 2 many coffees but I am working on that.
I have a break at about 11.30 am for coffee and a bun ( Have to keep DH happy! - But its my only treat and he has made them lower in fat and put more fruit in them!) or I am really good and just eat an apple or banana. For Dinner in the evening I have a normal T - meat two veg type of thing and I try hard not to use too much fat in cooking etc. If the others have roast potato I invariably boil a couple for me type of thing! I choose low fat foods such as salad Without dressing and Fish. I seldom have desert and if I do it is yogurt and fruit or if I am bad a bit of honey/ or syrup. But I never have anything after that maybe just coffee later in the evening.
I feel more toned and have been doing abit of working out! So I am doing some excersizes. My clothes feel losser and they are not pulled tight across my skin now. But then I went to see the scales and guess what THEY ARE THE SAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOW ON EARHT CAN THIS BE AFTER ALL MY HARD WORK!!!!!!! I am gutted!!!!

Oesdog - I never want to post my weight again!!!

I'm not preaching here, but I want to suggest that the numbers on a scale can REALLY mess with our heads. I actually don't weigh myself anymore, but entirely determine where I am at by how the clothes fit, etc. That being said, I know that I tell myself that I am working my booty off, but the scale numbers dont reflect that, and I get that momentary low. I'm trying to wrap my head around the fact that numbers don't mean everything....

I think I weigh two lbs less than what I weighed at 4 months pregnant! But the photo of me pregnant shows that protruding belly, softer features. If you take a photo of me now, I have defining biceps, toned thighs, and what's that? Oh goodness, a hint of abs! Nearly the same weight, but I'm wearing it differently!

So don't give up! It does take time and it does take routine modification (routine as in, you've worked in a new exercise regime into your schedule so now it's part of your daily life). And I noticed that a good support system is a must....

Your clothes are fitting looser....that really is a positive step in the right direction! You are on your way....

oesdog, the scale is only one measure, not the be all and end all measurement of success or failure! How you feel, how well your clothes fit, becoming stronger and able to do physical things you couldn't when you started, those all are more importance then what the scale says. Literally you can be extremely fit, not have an ounce of fat on you, be buffed and toned out and according to the scale and bmi index considered obese!!!!!!!

You are making progress, you said your clothes are fitting better and you are able to make heathier choices for food, and miracle of miracles even got that husband of yours to bake lower fat heathier versions of food, increase your activity level. Even if the scales never budge if your body is shrinking and you are fitting into smaller clothes and able to be more active, the scales really don't matter!

I sure would love to see 9 stone something on the scale though. I don;t feel as fat - but I am far from the shape I would love to gain. It is frustrating when I try everything and get nowhere on the scale. So many of you have lost so many lbs- I just fluctuate round in the same general area!!!!!!! It upsets me a lot!

Oesdog

I had to do drastic measures to lose the wieght, w/ normal sensible low cal diet and exercise I do the same stay and fluctuate. I took hcg and dropped my calories to 500 per day for several weeks. I keep it off w/ moderately strict cal control (1000-1200) very strict starch carb control (2-3 1/2 cup servings per week) and power yoga 1 hr a day for 5 days a week, at least 1/3 of that vinyasa flow.
