Anyone setting eggs May 1st?

I hope she keeps it! i think it was a good sign if she rolled it back under herself! IDK either, tho! and darn spell check! Willies? Silkies! we have 7 silkies, 2 blrw and 1 mutt so far! I moved them to the brooder this morning. i didnt see any more pips... but they were rolling all the others around. 15 left 2 go! but 2 were questionable at lockdown..

....I thought it was code for all the male chicks. LOL. I'm like, "How does she know she has cockerels already?" as I parused your post...LOL. Oh aren't they precious?!

Can you post a pic of the little BLRW. I'm down to my last egg and I'm hoping to have one.... just one...I pray.

i went home at lunchtime to check on them.. and one of my dads blrw was newly hatched!! I couldnt get a decent picture of that one, but here is one of my 2 (so far!?

Oh she/he's beautiful! How sweet it is resting there in your hand too?! Awe...sweet baby... Thank you Molly. I can hardly wait...I feel a teary with emotion looking at that chick...It's just so sweet. We are so privileged to get to do this aren't we? Good job on your hatching!

We are! that little guys was just as content as could be to sit there.. i was talking to it..imprinting myself on it. the other one of the dots didnt want anything to do with me though!!

my kids will be getting off the bus anytime now.. and they will be running back and forth from the brooder to the incubator. even my oldest.. who usually doesnt care about anything (teenagers!!) is enthralled. oh they just called we have another silkie!!

its an amazing thing to witness, that is for certain. my sister called earlier today. she had 11 hens.. but last night, 8 of them wouldnt go in the coop, the were underneath and she couldnt get to them.. so she thought.. eh, its just one night...a fox or coyote got them. she only has the 3 that were in the coop.. so she asked me to set more!! i was like.. ABSOLUTELY!!

Can't wait for tomorrow!!!! Maybe when I get home this evening my broody will have some pips for me to see! So excited to have a broody mama, especially this one, she's tried since November already but our lovely ND weather and random circumstances prevented me from getting her any eggs till may 1st. I Sure hope she has 100% cant wait to see the little lavender fuzzbutts!

My eggs arrived this morning! I will be setting them tonight...so looking forward to a hatch of May 20th!

My hatch last year was may 23rd, so some of mine could be parents before they are a year old!

Alright. . So apparently my silkie lays eggs the same size and color as my dottes?! I have 9 silkie and 2 blrw. .thought it would be the other way around! Guess I better separate them! !

Oh that's awful. I always think the worse is going to happen the one night I don't crawl under the coop to get the two new ones (so I crawl on my hands & knees thru mud & poop and use the hoe to drag them out) but now thankfully, they've started going in to the coop at night.
