Good luck to everyone else who is still waiting for their hatch.
Oh, that can be so disappointing.

Its so tough sometimes. Did they have spiders at a week, and only die recently? Many tips on what happend are based on when the eggs die.

Temp must be exact (I test my thermometer-calibrate), I have humidy gauge, I use a water weasil with a thermometer to tell me the temps inside my eggs, and I hand turn only the first week (but never the first few days). Even with all this, I probobly only got an average of 60% hatch from shipped eggs. ITs sooo irritating.

BTW, in case your wondering, I've been lurking and reading your thread all week.

I hope I'm welcome, I've been hatching eggs for about 28 years now.

Thanks for the invite, I'd love too!

I used to go to another hatch post but its actaully getting a little cliqish, and I disapprove, so back to the real nice folks for me! Yes, if you lose the last week or two, its usually a reflection of temperature issues.

I am sorry. Please say your still gonna hatch again? Want me to send you some button quail eggs?

Oh that would be great! I have never hatched them before. I Must say I love this website its like family everyone is interested in what the other has to say. and I love that. My husband gets tired of listening to me talk about chickens 24/7 so its nice to be somewhere that everyone shares your interest.

Place a soaked sponge in a pan and run tubing from the pan to the outside. I have a piece of fishtank tubing that I ran from my "mini" bread pan with a sponge (on the inside) and taped it to the outside. I just fill a syringe with hot water and then squirt it through the tube into the pan.

If you went into lockdown then the humidity needs to be between 65% and 75%. You don't want those babies to get shrink wrapped. I had my humidity in the high 60's and still had a shrink wrapped one.

I'm officially in lockdown! I candled last night and things aren't looking so good though, if anything hatches out of this batch I'd be surprised.

I think I should have known better. The lady said the eggs "could be" up to 5 days old....but they were 12 for $20 including shipping, so I caved. On top of all of the strange fluctuations in temperature, and the fact that my incubator is a styrofoam death trap [as far as humidity and fluctuations go] I haven't been keeping as close of an eye on this batch as I did the last.

I saw 2 completely blacked out eggs [an EE and a FC] my Mille Fleur d'Uccle eggs (3 of which I saw chicks in) seem to have stopped growing, there is only a small mass of dark and I didn't see any movement.

I have a feeling that I'm going to be beyond disappointed with this hatch :/

My two peeps did not make any progress in over 12 hours. Had to help them out this morning. They were two big and could not move much in the egg. One had a growth on its belly. Hope it makes it. Its a fighter. He is moving around and chirping very loudly. Have one more peeping right now. 28 more to go.

Just woke up and the third egg is hatched. The fourth, however, (the one that was peeping yesterday) still hasn't even pipped.
