So sorry to hear. I got suckered in too. The farmer only wanted $5/dozen and gave me 15 eggs. 3 were duds right off the bat. I kept them "just in case" and on day 14 there was nothing. the other 12 were all developed and I could see movement in all. Now that they have started hatching I think I had some older and newer eggs. The first 5 all hatched within a day of each other and the other 7 show no signs. I am thinking those 7 will hopefully hatch on Tuesday which is Day 21 for me. I worry because they all went into lockdown on Thursday instead of last night like they were supposed to. Even if the rest don't hatch I will be happy with what I got out of this hatch. It was my first attempt at hatching and I have learned a lot.I'm officially in lockdown! I candled last night and things aren't looking so good though, if anything hatches out of this batch I'd be surprised.
I think I should have known better. The lady said the eggs "could be" up to 5 days old....but they were 12 for $20 including shipping, so I caved. On top of all of the strange fluctuations in temperature, and the fact that my incubator is a styrofoam death trap [as far as humidity and fluctuations go] I haven't been keeping as close of an eye on this batch as I did the last.
I saw 2 completely blacked out eggs [an EE and a FC] my Mille Fleur d'Uccle eggs (3 of which I saw chicks in) seem to have stopped growing, there is only a small mass of dark and I didn't see any movement.
I have a feeling that I'm going to be beyond disappointed with this hatch :/
