Anyone setting eggs starting July 15 -July 22?

I had my first experience with shipped eggs this spring. Wish I knew then what I know now!

I did wind up with 2 chicks, and a pair at that

but they were definitely and expensive pair!
My first shipped bunch... 10 eggs didnt do well.
I think possibly died due to shipping.took 4 days 2 of which i am sure were sitting in a trailer in the heat as they had reached the MO destination in 1day... from out of state 3 daysMORE before i got them..and hour away GUG
They all died as the weeks went on None made it to the end but COULD be other things.Used well water for humidity Bacteria maybe or iron.
It is HIGH in iron and i am sure chickens (birds) babies are more sensitive to things like that before another animal might be.

2nd hatch shipped too Only 8 eggs( used distilled)
but this time 2 were broken and 2 clear. 1 bad,ONLY 3 good, day 10.
Used too low humidty dry hatch...and maybe too low heat too at times. One pipped and the other 2 didnt hatch at all but were full grown in the egg Might have shrink wrapped them

So my hard headed German ancestry ....bought 50 eggs now! And a new second bator.
I am Confident i will get a handful at least or i will truly give up! LOL
Threes a charm isnt it?
Yeah mine will be expensive too .Dont want to think what i lost so far on eggs.... think casino gambling !!!

Thing is i hang over them like Im the hen and still dont get any!! Maybe a watched pot?

Me me I set 7 quail eggs on july 15 :)

I had one infertile and another doesn't seem to be developing correctly

We set 9 Americauna eggs (blue on the left), 6 Cochin eggs (white in the middle), and 19 Barnyard Beauty mixed eggs. They are due to hatch on August 11th. I candled them today, but though some showed signs of life, it is early days still. I will candle them again on Friday and hope that most of them are fertilized and mature.

You can read about our experience on our family's homestead blog page if you are interested. I am really looking forward to sharing the joys of hatching with you all this round

It's been four days for my 27 eggs. I could not wait until the seventh day and took a quick peek. Of the five eggs I checked, three showed clear development with veins spreading from a dark glob in the middle. They were beautiful. Two were clear. I am so excited. I think I will get some babies if I don't mess up by candling too often.

okay, so i have eggs in incubator on day 14, some on day 8, and just ordered 4 copper marans, 18 ameruacanas, and 10 welsummers which should arrive friday....HELP !!! have caught a bad addiction......:)

Do you use multiple incubators or hatch them all together. I was wondering because I change the heat/humidity/turning eggs, etc within my incubator depending on the development stage of the chicks. If you do, too, please, tell me HOW???? I am so impressed!
