I actually took him/her out of the bator and cracked the shell all the way around and left him in there (so he could push himself out.) The membrane had already detached from the egg and was totally dried out stuck to the chick. The only part that did not have membrane stuck to it was the face area. I put the egg back in and within a few minutes he did break free from the shell and tore open the dried membrane but it was still glued to his feathers. After about an hour I took him back out and removed some of the membrane and then put him back in the bator. Every hour I was taking him out and pulling off more and putting him back in so he hopefully wouldn't get too chilled. I did most of the peeling under a heat lamp too. I had to leave for work and hoped he would make it until I got home (only 4 hours.) He was very weak but breathing okay.He is HUGE, which is why I think he did not turn. I just got home from work a little while ago and looked in on him and he was actually sitting up with his eyes open and chirping his head off instead of just laying there. Keeping my fingers crossed that he makes it.Congrats on your babys!!WOW 5 now.and hatch isnt until Tuesday or Wed is it?
Im no expert fo sure but did you try to add a little water to the dry part with aQ tip? or a wet rag?I have heard ppl say to do that or arre a lot more gojng to hatch yet?
