Anyone setting eggs starting July 15 -July 22?

This has been the best hatch a long i have joined....

Guys... just out of curiosity... what are your set ups... You guys got pics? Homemade or store bought incubators... just curious... this is mine. the one to the left of it is my hatcher... I have it called the "messy box" it gets messy during lockdown/hatch. I am going to toss the messy box since I bought a genesis... and just keep this one for staggered hatches. We started this project as a learning tool for the kids (both girls as you can tell by all their stickers...lol )...but me and hubby are having fun too.

So happy you joined and are having fun!
I have an old round Hova-Bator.
Hand turning, and monitoring a digital thermo/hygrometer by hand (nothing pre-set here).

It did great! 5 out of 4 eggs hatched and the one that didn't make it was because I had the humidity too high for a while (not the bators fault).

Yea i have th same problem once some hatch...Was thinking of a dot of food coloring on their fuz???What else wont they peck off? or peck at?Dont think it could hurt, not sure it will work

Could you dab a bit of red polish on the little claw???? Congratulations on all the successes, and so sorry for the losses. I am still fretting about my temp spike yesterday, but I was able to see movement in one that was set a day later, the others are too far along to see anything but dark...hoping all is ok though!

Ok, day 17. I don't know if I was psyching myself out and it's really Summer or a breeze or something but I could SWEAR I heard some soft peeps/cheeps coming from the nest area. I was crouching quietly next to the exit and Summer's nest is about two feet over...

Could it be starting? Could they really be starting to peep in the shell already???

Okay so I put a little food coloring on a Qtip and just dabbed the color on one of the chick's head. I have 2 that look so similar I can't really tell them apart. I also already have a bully. I really think he is a cockrel. His comb is about twice the size of the others and he postures too. He has pecked one of the other chick's nose almost raw. If he keeps this upI am going to have to put him in time out!

I am using a homemade incubator. I looked at some of the incubators in the coop part of the forum and then went to Youtube and found out how to make one step-by-step. I had an old cooler that has been sitting in the garage for years so I used that and about $30 worth of supplies from Walmart, Lowe's and the Dollar Store. I have to say I was very pleased with the end result. My temp and humidity stayed where it should have been and I only had one spike when it went to 102. I even made an egg turner out of PVC so that I didn't have to open the bator up all the time. I have 5/12 eggs hatched so far, so I would say that it is doing what it is supposed to do. I'll post a picture later. My battery died in the camera and it is charging now.

Mine starting hatching on what I counted as Day 16, so anything is possible.

My second batch have started peeping. Due to hatch Sunday. 2 have peeped so far. I heard chirping in the incubator but could not see any peeping. Looked underneath and they were peeping on the bottom.
