Anyone setting eggs starting July 15 -July 22?

My 17 year old daughter has been helping me with this hatch. She is officially momma to the little wryneck chick we have. She has named her Starr. What a great learning experience we give our kids!!!

Totally awesome experience for them, and we are at 5silkie pips and 1 barnyard mix, woot!!!! Hope your wryneck chick gets better asap :)

my 1 egg isn't doing anything... kinda suck when all you got is 1 egg...lol

Anyhow, I got 3 boxes waiting for me today at the post office... it took 6 and 7 days to get to me... I wonder if I will have 3 boxes of cooked duds... I will know in a week when I candle them...

So right now, I have 12 Lemon cuckoo Orp eggs going on day 5 and looks like only 5 have development... I am going to put those under my broody today or tomorrow.. I gota catch her while she does her once a day poo and eating/dust bath. She is so vicious. I put a water bottle in her nest and she tried to kill it. I think if it were my finger, she would have pulled it off. She is seriously a natural protector... BTW, she is my Game hen... she was a rescue and adopted us.

I am so happy to hear all the success... I would love to know if you guys are planning to set more eggs... I know a few of you have ordered some...I enjoyed this thread, even tho some of us had bad luck or whatever... It has been great hearing all the troubleshooting and problem solving going on inhere...

WOW!!! So many posts since I went to bed!! Have a lot of catching up to do. Had another hatch before I went to bed and another egg pipped. The 2 that had pipped yesterday afternoon have hatched also.(Problems with one - details below.) My daughter said she actually came in to tell me and I responded but don't remember doing so...LOL. I must have really needed to sleep after these past several days.
This hatch has taught me so much!!! Another hatched with part of the yolk still showing and now I think it has a hernia because the yolk is gone and there is a hole in it's stomach with what I think are intestines hanging out. Have put it in a small plastic container to separate her from the others, with a wet gauze sponge over/under the exposed area to keep it moist. From what I have read I think this one might be a goner.

Brookhavens I have one that is that way. It didn't absorb the yolk and now it has a hanging tumor on its belly. Tried to keep it moist but it has dried anyway. Not sure if it will make it but it is walking around and chirping like the others. It is 3 days old.

HERE SHE((sheshesheshe(( positive thinking)) IS my first chick ever born about 12;15 last night .Good GIRL! I could sleep thru .Well almost thru had to check a couple times last night on humidity and her
She slept sprawled out crammed between the jar with cotton balls and the wall. Thought she was stuck but no..shes fine SOOOO Tiny!!Dont think my grown girls were that tiny when i got them!

Little worried though.Should i be? She seems to be panting somewhat with her mouth open a little, panting for sure...Its 99.5 in there and humidity is about 75 not higher. Is that normal? Shes all dry now too.
She is adorable. None of my chicks panted. Could your thermometer be off and it is actually warmer in there than it reads?
