I have not been very good at posting updates on my batch of eggs, but I have been trying to follow along with this thread. It has not been easy to keep up. A few times I skipped a day or two of reading the posts and It really took a long time to catch up.
I put my eggs on lock down tonight. Out of the 15 shipped Mille Fleur d'Uccle eggs only one made it to lock down. The other 14 did nothing at all. For the local "farm fresh eggs" that I bought off craigslist, 18 out of 21 made it to lock down. I believe the other three were infertile. I have locked mine down standing up in egg cartons.
I am planning on trying to find some more Mille Fleur d'Uccle eggs that are close enough for me to pick up in person. I really want to put a few hens in with my roo. I'm really discouragedabout trying anymore shipped eggs after only hatching 4 out of 15 duck eggs on my first hatch and now the bad luck with these.![]()
It will be interesting to see what I get from these "farm fresh eggs" because I have no idea what kind of hens they came from except that they are all brown.
