Anyone setting eggs tomorrow (13th March, EDD Apr 3rd)

I thought the 5 bantum eggs that are in the 'bator were silkie UNTIL my silkie/s started laying again and I then seen the slight difference between the two
hmm.png
I guess I get bantum brahma mix (roos EE, brahma or Silkie) hopefully they look different then what I have know, I'm not one for a flock of look alikes
lol.png
hopefully tonight we can snag 2 brahmas and tag them so I know who is who. right now I haven't a clue if i'm seeing the same one in there or if I really have 3 laying??
hmm.png
(i know I got 3 laying it's just that there is always a brahma in the nest and what if one goes broody will I know............. ok I'm done mumbling

Make that 8, she layed another one. I took it and she stayed put. Tonight she goes into our brand new broody cage. My husband is finishing it up today.

I just thought of something, my husband made a brooderbreaker for her in Feb. and when he finished it I went to get her from the nest and she decided she was done hatching shavings and left the nest on her own.

now he's gone and built her a nest all of her own watch her decide she doesn't want to sit

are we noticing a trend here? every thing is being built for this silly silkie.

Rocking today?
Now I'm seriously going to be glued to that window...

I think my temps have been on the lower side so am not expecting hatching until late day 21 or 22...

None of my girls are broody yet - still too cold here I think. Barbara has been sitting on the eggs last 3 days on and off but she doesn't stay there and won't sleep on them. I'm waiting for Buffy or Margot because they've done it before. Probably in May...

My temp in my incubator has decided, since I put eggs in for lockdown, to not get up to 99.5.

What is going on with it? I added water and wet sponges after I disenfected it lastnite, but it got up close to 99.5. It shouldnt still be making its way up. .... I put the eggs in after candling (whenever it was that I posted results lastnite)

Hope its not doing any damage. I think Id rather temps be a little low then too high. So I may get late hatchers too.

I kind of didn't take you seriously...rocking on day 19...but was just checking temp (102.5 eek - have turned it down) and I saw one of my blue eggs shudder...

Thought I was wishingful-thinking it from all the excitement then it gave a big rock!
So I started talking to it and tapping on the glass, and everytime I paused and then restarted talking and calling to it again it started shaking. OMG!
Its so so so so exciting!

Don't know what to do with myself I'm so excited!!!!

So is the rocking as they start to pip into the air sack or is it as they turn around in the egg?

Oh...this is so much fun!

Oh, I see how it is.........didn't believe me, eh?

They're just getting into position. Once they pip through the inner membrane, you'll start hearing them chirping. You can hear it even before they pip the shell.

But you're not going to believe me anyway.

you know what I mean...just seems so unlikely that there's actual real life chicks in there

The ameraucana/australorp mix is still shuddering and now the blue jersey giant is rocking like mad now

And the BCM that I wasn't sure was alive might have twitched too, but its touching the BJG so I'm not sure...

Am stepping away for from the bator for a bit now...a very annoyed 2 year old thinks she's not getting a fair share of my attention and finding nemo's not cutting it any more
