well our 3 chicks are still hangin in there! the one with the yolk sac that was not absorbed seems to be doin okay....it ruptured yesterday so I tied it off with thread and cut it off. they are all eating and drinking so hopefully they continue to get stronger! I'm sooooo in love with them lol

Con Grats on your babies everyone, We had a extremly loooong nite. I decided to put my brooder in the same room as the bator, but what I did not think about was, the heat from the heat lite would affect the bator temp. the humidity inside the bator of course spiked when the kids started to hatch, the humidity affected the temp in the brooder. it was warm here yesterday so I had to work at getting every thing just right... the the outside temp droped to 24 so back to adjusting temps--- as of this AM we have 5 hatched out.. 2 more have piped but I don't expect any thing from them till this evening. 2 are ?
will post pics when I can see to find the camera.. and take a nap
those with no action yet don't give up hope these were shipped eggs and I am very happy with 5

congratulations!!! and yes, how can anyone resist those little cute faces...there's something about a baby chick that just gets you.

though I've only had two hatches to speak of, I've let them get almost completely dry (about 4-5) hours and into the brooder they go...but if you see the baby panting, go ahead and give it some relief by putting it in the brooder....
