I woke to a temp of 102 which appens because its colder at night and heats up during the afternoon. So I hardly touched the knob...I mean hardly turned it. 40 mins later I checked on the incubator and it was 94 degrees!!!!!! Please dont let my eggs be ruined.....Please dont let me eggs be ruined....

I have some that are not developing and I think are scrambled because the yplk moves freely inside the egg from one side to the other with no development inside. I also have some where the yplk appears to be stuck at the fat ed of the agg and a few that dont appear to have air cells that I can see. I know for sure I have about 6 where life is happening in the eggs. Some veins and some with a black dot. Like you I can hardly see in my Maran and welsummer eggs. But I do know a few of those are duds as well because I can see the tolk move around freely as well.

All this is contingent to my LG not killing them. I have to go to auction tonight to look for a buck Holland Lop so I will have no choice but to leave the bator for a couple hours and pray for the best

Congrats on the ones that are growing for you. How exciting!!!! Maybe we will get lucky with our darker colored eggs.

Tonight will be day 5 and I still am fighting the urge to candle. I am trying so hard to wait until day 7.

Congrats Chicken Mama. Sounds like it is going good for you.
Artathart - So sorry you are having trouble with your LG. I am using the LG still air with turner. I have to watch the temps constantly. So far in the day the temps are at 102 and in the mornings they are at 99.
Rachael - Good question regarding the Quail. Do they fly away or if you clip the wings they stay put? Anybody know?

I caved and semi-candled two eggs today. I had to add water. So since it was open, I picked up two eggs and held them to a light. It is not the best way to candle. I thought I saw a shadow in both of them. I have 5 other eggs in the bator that I didn't touch. I am very paranoid about messing with them. But I saw "something" in two. It makes me very happy that we probably have a good start!

With this being my third attempt, it is a much better start then I ever had before!

Ugh... Down to 6 Araucana eggs and 5 faverolle silkie cross eggs. So far with the Araucana eggs I've had one broken air cell and tonight two blood rings, figured this kind of thing would happen, they are similar to seramas when incubating (lethal gene). With the cross eggs the 4 were just never fertilized. I'm gonna have to have a stern talking too with my silkie rooster chewbacca lol
