Just candled - the Silkies are are wiggling, the Ameraucanas are harder to tell, but only 1 obvious blood ring, which we pitched. Hope the rest make it.
Hope everyone is doing well....I had to toss one with a blood ring this morning, but the other 6 are doing well, all very active at this time.....Hope they continue to stay that way....I have 2 Americauna's and 4 barnyard mixes (Rooster is an Americuana and the ladies are Black Sexlinks, Red Sexlinks, Americauna's, and not sure what else)
I went and bought a new flashlight which is 150 lumens and its amazing. I can see in almost all my eggs. I have babies in most but only dancing babies in a few. I think some have stopped developing because they have eyes but are much smaller than the ones which are moving. They are just laying int he fat end of the egg. I will wait it out. I only tossed one. I could not see in this shell and the egg felt lop sided. Heavy on one end and hollow on the other. I cracked it open and no baby (Yeah) and the yolk was realy thick. So I am down to 18. I did have about 6 eggs I saw nothing in at all but I am nto making that mistake again and I will candle them again in a couple days.

Awww, I'm sorry. Did you open them up? Do you have any developing at all? Veins or an eye? I still have about 6 I cannot see anything else but a mass. I did have to toss one this evening.
oh my goodness, I want one of those!!! Those olive green and maran eggs are sooooo hard to see into...i'm relying really on the flickering light as a sign of life because i really can't see anything...
MikeS(erama) :
The Coleman I had was either 115 or 130 lumens, or something in that range. It lit up the egg like crazy!
I can't see anything but the flickering light dancing on the wall when I cup the egg with the flashlight underneath....the olive and maran eggs are the hardest....not sure if the flickering light is enough to substantiate life, but I can't for the life of me see inside and I'm using a 60 lumen flashlight and I also have a 3 led flashlight.....so no, I can't see any eye, a leg, a foot or anything....yes, i opened up those three eggs tonight...not a speck of blood anywhere, just some really nice scrambled eggs....

I just got it tonight at Lowes. It was on clearance for $24.99. Its not what I really wanted to spend on a flashlight but the egg you see in the pic, Is on of my Blue hard to see thru Americanas. I love this flashlight. Though I was not able to see movement I saw life in a lot of eggs I never saw before!
