The show is February 25-27, and I am trying to decide if it's worth it for me to take my two little young birds, a pair of bantam cochins. It would be my first show. I've never been to an APA show before. Safford is 90 minutes away from me through the mountains, and I am definitely going to go even if I don't show. But how to decide???

PROS:Good for experience.
My brother lives in Safford and I could stay with him.

CONS:My two older sons have a district championship basketball game the 26th.
I only have two birds to take, and have never even seen what a show champion looks like in person. Is it worth it to show just for the experience?
My pullet is 9 months old, my cockerel is 6 months.
My brother lives in Safford and I'd stay with him.

Would I get more out of showing than just walking around the show?

You will have loads of fun, and plenty of folks who love to talk "chicken." Email me if you need the show book or entry form.

Thanks, I've got the show book and entry form. Will you be there? Selling any birds, by chance?

Sonoran Silkies, could you send the entry form and show book to me? I'm in a similar situation as the OP and am very curious. :)
