I know this may be pretty random, but I have an older nutcracker that still has its tag saying it was made in Germany. I want to translate and find out what this company is or how to learn more about the figure. I tried an image translate and image search but no luck. Can anyone help me find out more about this or who the company is? Thank you kindly!

Top: Erz Mountain Folk Art

Bottom (company name) Erich (Erick) Gerold or Herold Schoenherr, LLC

That's the best I can do :)

The company is Folk Art from the Erzgebirge (the Erz mountains)

The owners are Erich and Herold Schonherr

The GmbH just means they have established the company properly.

(The label is written in old-fashioned Schrift which means script).

I tried finding this company, it still seems to exist somewhere (it’s still listed in some commercial registers as far as I was able to see online) but I couldn‘t find it on Google maps. The only thing I can definitely say is that Herold actually isn’t part of the company’s name but a small town in the Erz mountains.

In Germany, Erich Schönherr‘s company became popular because they built dolls of the „Sandmännchen“ (the main figure in a bedtime-tv programme that was first aired in 1959 in east Germany but is still shown every evening). I wasn’t able to find anything about your nutcracker though.
