Anyone starting a hatch today?

Hennyhandler, it's been a long time since I hatched and bators have seriously changed. Kids and I are learning together. Staggered hatch is a result of chicken math! Room in the bator is a problem....

I had 10 out of 13 hatch Monday/ Tuesday, but the 3 that didn't hatch were from my Polish hen. Has anyone else had trouble with Polish, because now she is not even laying and apparently neither are the Polish at the farm we went to for eggs today? The chicks I have now are 5 RIR mixes, 4 Brahma mixes, and a Bantam frizzle Cochin. My 4-H club put 40 eggs in the incubator tonight; 22 of the same breeds from last time, 2 Polish, 12 other standard mixes, and 4 frizzles from the other farm.

How are your eggs doing? It's almost time for lockdown for this batch. Time for me to plug in my hatching incubator.

I just warmed up a hovabator this morning which I'll be using as a hatcher. Lockdown is tomorrow for me --will, it's lockdown for my eggs!
I started with 16 silkie eggs and I'm down to 10 eggs. Didn't see much movement when I candled this morning, but it's pretty crowded in those eggs so I'd be thrilled if all 10 hatched.

If I remember, you had a bunch going in the bator (and staggered hatches too). How are they doing? And since you are experienced, do you have any suggestions for first-timers like me?

My last two hatches had 100%, which was fantastic. I believe I pulled an infertile egg out of this batch, but I'll have to check my records to make sure. I have to keep a schedule on the calendar, it gets so complicated!

But as of now, I have 25 Blue Laced Red Wyandottes in the brooder, two Silver Laced Wyandottes, and 83 Coturnix quail in another one. My Blue Andalusians just decided to start laying; I hope these are fertile, the previous ones haven't been.

The only advice I can give you is, I swear, I seem to get better hatches if I don't watch them, just check in once in a while. But what's the point of that? :D

I swiped the eggs from my hen on day 14 when she went out to eat and candled them, and tossed two...she's sitting on 10 right now. I haven't touched them since then, so I have no idea what's going on - I could have all 10 hatch, or I might not get any. I'm freaking out, we're going out of town on Friday morning, so unless they decide to go on Thursday I'm going to have no idea if we have chicks or not until we get home on Monday....

We went into lockdown this morning! Hoping and praying for all 10 chicks to hatch.

We saw movement in all 10 and marked their aircells before putting them in the hatcher.

We hatched today! Mine are under a hen and not in an incubator though, don't know if that makes a difference. Woke up this morning to two pips, now have five chicks hatched and three more pips - not too shabby for the ten eggs she's been on and us having no earthly idea what we're doing. Lol!! Chicks are adorable!!

I put 6 eggs under a broody banty back on the 29th of January. She may have more than that now as she set herself up in one of the nest boxes in my coop and I know she has had company in there since. I haven't checked on the eggs as I didn't want to disturb her too much. The eggs should be due to hatch this Sunday the 19th as long as the temperature in the coop didn't get too low for her to keep them warm.
