No experiences here- but I wonder if you could snip a little of the baby fuzz away and use a wound strip or butterfly closure? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steri-Strip They fall off on their own- no stitch removal necessary.
Stitches are great for mature skin, but I'd be concerned about putting stitches in a baby chick. Might cause tissue necrosis if you don't get the tension right- or infection if the thread isn't sterile (or the correct type). External correction is probably a safer bet.
