THAT will never happen! Toooo many folks around here spoiling them rotten! They do love kale, carrots and apples, I might add.

Um, quick! One of the eggs that I set TODAY, has amber droplets allover the egg!!! Does it means its weeping?!?! Already?!? What should I do? pitch it? Get a replacement/refund from the seller?

Also, my hovabator's temps lowest setting is 98.2 degrees, I can't get it lower, unless the digital thing is off, and I had ordered a spot check from Brinsea, and it might come in the mail next week. I have a GQF Sportsman Cabinet bator that I can use, but it has chicken eggs in it for the Easter hatch. Unless I can candle to see if there is any more clears and quiters that I can cram the rest in the Hova, then adjust the temp in the sportsman, then move the emu eggs in it.

Daron, that is why I did not incubate in my HovaBator. I couldn't get the temp down to 97.5 either.

Don't know what to tell ya. Sorry.

If I had droplets on eggs, I don't think I would incubate them. That's just me. I know nothing. Really, nothing!

I had 2 eggs from the last two batches that were weeping.. one was egg G-1.. when it was given to me the lady told me it was very old.. on day 7 it was stinking.. so I blew it out.. it was very watery and rotten inside..

another egg i got was supposed to be "fresh" (egg H-2).. it was also weeping on day 1.. after that it stopped weeping.. it's now on day 14 and still does not have an odor.. is it bad?.. probably.. actually I would bet money on it that it is.. but until it starts to have an odor i am willing to experiment and play the wait and see game.

both of my weepers were free.. i did notify the people I got them from.. however I wasn't complaining, just letting them know how the eggs were doing. if you paid for the eggs I would definitely notify the person you got them from if they advertised them as "fresh hatching eggs"
For my weepers I did allow them time to come to room temperature so I doubt it was condensation (plus the amber color screams BAD EGG). I also sprayed them down with Oxine.. which btw does not dry to an amber or yellow color.. it dries crystal clear.. you can't even tell it's on the eggs... so yeah.. pretty much amber droplets tells me they are bad.

Yinepu, the eggs are perfect, still wiggling a lot... I move them to the sportsman last week, But the temp mzrks to a 98.5 degrees, I put them at the last tray down the incubator so its 97.5. I run them dryas my humidity where I live is high, 78% and at the incubator is 35%. Keep my fingers crossed as im on day 46 as you !!! keep monitoring cloooose!!!

I took a closer look at the egg that was weeping, and the color of the droplets is actually clear, and there has been no more new droplets since when I first saw it yesterday. I had the eggs slowly come to room temperature, and waited 24 hours from receiving the eggs to setting them in the incubator. The room temp is 60 something degrees.

Unfortunately my first egg due is starting to smell rotten. Boo Hoo! It is day 40 ish... too tired to reach calender.... but I still have 2 more chances.

Would you try and blow the egg as soon as you start to smell this yuck?

I do.. you can clean them rather well (even with a small pin hole like I put into the shell to blow them out.. link in my signature).
Just because the emu egg is bad the shell still has plenty of uses for carving or decorative "jewelry box" type of containers or just for display.

but if there's a dead chick in the shell you would have to make a judgement call to see if you want to deal with removal of the chick and attempting to save the shell.

when the egg JUST starts to stink you might have a little bit of a pressure buildup inside the egg.. I like to catch them before they are close to exploding.. when I drill the teeny hole the ones with pressure buildup will hiss at me when the gasses escape. If you wait too long to attempt to drill it could very well go from just a hiss of escaping gasses to a blowout.. which wouldn't be any fun if you're the one who is doing the drilling!

just remember to wash with a detergent and rinse.. rinse.. rinse.. and then sniff the egg.. if there is an odor use something non acidic (I like Oxine) to help with odor removal and further disinfecting
things like vinegar or lemon juice will eat away at the shell.. so I avoid those for cleaning
