Anyone up for a Hatchalong?

Download the form and fill out one for each chick. Cut a square about 1 inch x 1 inch of dried membrane where blood has been. Put the piece of membrane in a ziplock bag and staple the requisition to the bag. Send it to Zoogen with $20 for each test. 24 hours after they get it you will get the result. IF you want results emailed to you write that on the requisition or they will mail it. You will also get a certificate in the mail as well. Save the membrane that is left over in case they need more sample.

Thanks! I have meat maker for my CX, can I give the emus some of that? The protein is I think 28%.

they need low protein and high calcium..
high protein and low calcium tends to lead to problems where the chicks start to grow too fast for their bones...

I feed mine layer crumbles mixed with chopped greens (fresh collards, kale and spinach) for the first week... maybe adding in a sprinkling of chick starter or game bird starter for the extra vitamins .. or something like save a chick or prime added to their water.. grated carrots and finely chopped apples are tossed in here and there as a treat

at one week of age I switch them over to a 50/50 mix of layer pellets and rabbit pellets.. their "salad" is then their treat once they are eating the pellets

I looked at the feed label, and the protein is 21% not 28% as I thought. Is that ok at 21%? Thanks for the feed plan, I will do that. :)

Here is more pictures!

C4B- This one is the smallest one. the egg was only 464 grams at set day. I had to help it out for I would see that it was stuck. I just made the hole a bit bigger, and let it fight its way out.

Jade the puppy seems interested on the chicks, but knows that they are mine. :)
