Ok, update on Egg B.
Decided to open the shell and assist, it's not breech, the head was tucked along the belly. There is some bleeding but I'm not sure if it's active bleeding or just a pool that accumulated.
Either way the chick is very very weak and I'm not sure it will make it. I don't know if I waited too long or if I should have waited longer.
I wish you the best...I am scared myself. I have 2 eggs chipping, one has a small hole another none. I am debating if I should drill a hole in a second one. It's killing by not doing anything![]()
Yeah I'm sure I didn't nick the chick, I came in at a very steep angle with my pick to break off a bit of the shell and then gently lifted up the membrane with the tip rather than just poking through. But the hole I made in the membrane is very tiny, only about as big around as the thickness of a CD and the blood wasn't gushing out or anything even before I put the quick stop on but it spooked me enough to stop.
Trying to think of other options here. One thing I've considered is just going all out and removing the shell from the large end and getting the chick out of there nice and easy, possibly in the bathroom with the shower running to get some humidity going for it, even with the wet paper towels it's getting a little dry in there, though the membrane is still pliable.
But aside from that, the chick that hatched on it's own is doing great, such a friendly little thing too, it loves to have it's back rubbed.
Mine took about 15 hours to pip through the egg after it started to peep and peck around. I wouldn't worry unless you see movement reduced or the chirping is weaker.
Irine.. you only need to add moisture like that if you areOh my gosh! Cuteness!
I also made hole last night , very tiny one, the chick inside is talking and trying to get out but no pipping yet. The membrane also showed sign of blood and I almost fainted. I put a wet band-aide on and now constantly reapplying moisture. Another egg also talking and I can hear it pocking the shell ,but no pipping.

You're welcome! It nearly killed me waiting for him, but the patience paid off and he was quite healthy. The only time I helped was when he was nearly out of the shell, but being clumbsy about it. His head was out, but I wanted to see the rest of him and dumped him out of the shell.Mine took about 15 hours to pip through the egg after it started to peep and peck around.
