Ok, I weighed the eggs, and was surprised how much weight they lost.-
Starting weight-
D- 604g
E- 630g
Today's weights-
D- 592g
E- 614g
Is that loss amount ok? Also, as I was handling the eggs, I felt the insides sloshing around. Is that a bad sign of the eggs being scrambled and no good at all? I am worried sick about that.
604 - 15% = 90.6 grams total that it needs to lose.. / 50 days = 1.812 per day = 12.684 per week..
so 604- 12.684 = 591.316 grams
630 - 15% = 94.5 grams / 50 days = 1.89 grams per day = 13.23 per week
so 630 - 13.23 grams = 616.77 grams (612 grams would indicate too much weight loss at 20%)
so both eggs look ok to me so far
keep in mind though that you may need to adjust things later on for egg E if it continues to lose at a more rapid weight
sloshing is never good.. but then again you should be careful when handling the eggs since bumping and jarring them can kill a developing embryo (I'm assuming you already know that)..
were these shipped to you?.. if so about how many miles away was the person you got them from?
I have found that for emu eggs the closer they are to you the better.. 710 miles away I still got good eggs.. but when I got eggs from the next closest seller (1718 miles) all of the eggs were scrambled.. so I am guessing that somewhere between 710 & 1718 miles travel distance is the danger zone for emu eggs..
