Say hi to Wild Thang for me!

Some of these eggs are 7 days old,all these have been accumilating after yours was shipped,,good thing I got the Merlot cooler in time.My very first BSSP egg is now pipped and another BSSP is broken thru the air sack,as is my first charcoal egg,,(yes a bottle is ready)!!

That's so exciting!!! Can't WAIT to see pictures! And I'm crossing my fingers for that little charcoal to be a little boy. :)

Too bad it can't be sexed for awhile,,if so and it does or would turn out to be a male,,the party would just continue thru the weekend here.Really the Charcoal pen has been a big disappointment this year, but next year will be better. The BSSP and Wild Thang pen are proving to be my most desired peachicks now.And I don't think any of them will be sold,,so I sincerely hope yours do well,,soon you should be able to see veins in yours.

one out of every 8 eggs would be charcoal, the rest would be split to charcoal. That is having a charcoal male with a split to charcoal hen. The odds go higher if the hen is not split to charcoal. Last year I hatched out 3 charcoals w/e, 2 are females and 1 male. Now of the rest of the chicks, 4 were pure white and Deerman told me that any of the white males could be charcoal under that white. I have 2 males in the white, won't know til they breed if they are infact charcoal or charcoal split. Wish he was here to explain it to me

the other chicks were pieds (split to char) and IBs w/e (split to char). My breeding season just started about 2 weeks ago. I do have 14 that are about 4-5 days old but I think I am going to sell them this year. My charcoal w/e and his wife my IB split to charcoal hen just started laying yesterday (tuesday), so 1 egg from them so far

I'm happy to hear that! Gosh I hope I can get a couple from them to hatch. I'm still so anxious, and it probably won't stop for 25 more days... and then I'll get anxious all over again.
I'm planning on candling day ten, but will probably cheat and candle sooner, I always do. I'm too impatient. :p

Maybe I should invest in an "egg cooler" next. :p

Mmmaddie13,,,don't forget to purchase a few bottles to store in that cooler:) Found out my Brinseas 190 capacity is 75 pea eggs using the top 3 trays,,theres not enough room to add a quail egg inside, except for the very bottom which is used for hatching,,stuffed like a turkey it is!! Never have I had so many pea eggs at once in the bator but always had hoped one day it would be a reality,,and hatch day here is like x-mas,,and we seem to be having x-mas about twice each week.

mine slacked off last week from laying but last nights collection showed cracking the whip and showing the girls the crock pot has been working.

Showing them the crock pot omg!

I tell mine if they don't behave I will let my co-workers take them home for stew... the work folks love making jokes about my owning peafowl, and about how tasty they would be!
