Happy birthday

Well i am at my friends house and just picked up 14 perfect Japanese Bantan eggs - two of which - we walked to their coop and were so fresh - they were warm!!!!!

I'm ready to go. I have a dozen EE eggs, a dozen mixed brown eggs (to fill up the bator), and four RIR eggs (for my friend). That will fill up my incubator.

OK, just got back from picking up 12 salmon faverolles, 12 GLW, and 7 austrolorp eggs. This will be the most full the poor little home made bator has ever been......hope she holds up.

I'm in. My first time too and I am also starting with Seramas. I always had the hens hatch out their own when I lived on the farm but now in town I will try the bator....yikes. Serama eggs are not cheap so I have my fingers crossed !!!!!

RareBreed, Where in AU are you, I lived in Coolum Beach for 3 years! Loved it! I miss the beach so much.

I'm in Victoria near the NSW boarder. Quite a drive to the beach from here, I miss it too. Used to live about 12km from it growing up.

I'm off to pick up my eggs in the next hour. Have somehow managed to have eggs that will be on day 5 when I set my Valentine's Day eggs. I planed to have them a full week apart but...

Ah well, good thing my hatches are finished on time because I doubt I'll resist setting more eggs before this lot are done.

I amm so jealous Inheart of you Japanese Bantam eggs.
Best wishes also with your Serama eggs, are they there yet?

Aw thank you - was so mad - somehow - not sure how one of the Japanese eggs was cracked when i got home! I was driving careful - 15 minute drive and when i went over railroad tracks and so forth i was driving with one hand and holding the carton in the air to avoid the bumps and shock with the other! LOL - I guess it happens. Bator is PERFECT temp and humidity - going home tonight - glass of wine and setting the lil ones! Sort of sad for a single guy - but oh well! LOL

Congrats on your eggs Inkheart. I have set 6 of my own BLRW's in the bator this morning and due to one no starter BBS Cochin egg have room for one more if the girl get to work this morning.
I too have had the mysterious crack. I received shipping eggs and they were all beautifully wrapped and arrived with no damage. unwrapped them, placed them in a carton and placed the carton in a very safe place where cats could not get it to rest over night. Opened the carton the next morning to a dimple crack that was leaking so no chance of sealing it over with wax or anything.
