Anyone use a Brinsea 190? Would like some tips

We made the plunge on getting a Brinsea 190. We just put our first tray of eggs in last monday. We want to put another tray in this coming monday, but was curious about the cooling feature, while adding in all these eggs?

Sorry my question might seem a bit all over. I guess what I should really be asking, is how you guys utilize your Brinsea 190?

Its my understanding that this model is for doing weekly or bi weekly hatching(?). I want to try to use it for weekly hatches. I have always used Brinseas cooling feature in the past, but was wondering if I could still use it while adding a new tray every week? According to their manual, they recommend to start the cooling cycle on day 7 up to day 18(?) But also recommend to allow new eggs to warm for a whole 24 hours... Now that monday is approaching, it would be day 7 for my first tray, so naturally I would start it, but I also plan to add a new 2nd tray on that day as well... So I just need to know of I can or should still use the cooling feature at all? If I can do it in this fashion?

I have had the 190 for about 3 years... it will hatch rocks.. i use the cooling feature 1 hr with no problems...
what i have had trouble with setting one tray a week .... when you try and raise humidity for last cp days of hatch it has caused my later trays to not hatch well... too much humidity and some drown ...i use a seperate hatcher

i have also not used the cooling with no problems... i think the cooling is best used with geese and ducks

if using as hatcher also i would just leave humidity low 40s and then let the hatch itself raise the humidity for no more than a day

This is very interesting and well put. Thank you so much for your tips. I think I'm going to try playing with the humidity towards hatch and maybe keep it lower. I've used the ova-easy 100 and had great results with 2 hours cooling and 43% humidity throughout the incubation before lockdown. But you also made some good points about the humidity being an issue for hatching.. Its funny in a way, since the manual states that a 2 days of high humidity shouldn't be an issue, but feel safer taking your word. We will try to run some hatches and see how it goes. Thank you!
