Anyone Use a Brower Incubator?

Ive got one of these and I took an egg turner out of a hovibator and cut one rack off so it would fit. It is workibg great best I can tell.

So happy that DB sent me to this thread!! I found the huge 100 egg incubator for $20! I'm doing a staggered hatch & just had 10 out of 14 hatch this weekend!!!

I have my 2nd hatch due Friday, then Sept 4
& last batch Sept 15! Wish it wasn't so big so I would quit adding eggs!!! I don't mind turning the eggs, it's actually enjoyable!

I had 100% fail twice in a styrofoam incubator with a turner.

The 5th post in this thread shows the inside views of the big model. Before you buy plug it in and see if the indicator light comes on and the element warms up. If it warms at all you should be good to go. You don't need it to heat all the way up. They either work or they don't. I usually recommend replacing, or at least having on hand, the thermostat wafer. PM me your request for instructions and include your email address, and I'll get a copy on its way.

I haven't GalloNX4, but I have purchased a wafer from Rocky Top General Store, and I believe they have the switch. They have a website. Good luck.

I am trying to zero in the temps on my brower 846. This is my very first time incubating! I have one question. When the pilot light is off then the heater is off. But does that mean that it won't turn back on? I have the screw and wingnut all the way down till just before the pilot light shuts off. It is holding steady at about 103 degrees. I need to lower it.

If the wafer is working properly, the pilot light and the heating element will slowly cycle off and on as the wafer expands and contracts as it reacts to the temperature change. This is what regulates the temperature.

Turn your adjusting screw clockwise a turn or two. The light and element will shut off until the temperature drops, then it should start cycling as stated above. If it doesn't cycle off and on the wafer is probably bad. Wait a while and see where the temperature stabilizes.Then make small adjustments to dial in the temperature you want. Clockwise for cooler counterclockwise for warmer.

It is important to note that once you get it dialed in tighten the wing nut and leave it alone. When you load a batch of eggs the temperature will probably drop and take a while to recover, as it takes some time to warm up the mass of eggs. Don't try to make it warm up faster by changing the adjustment.
